A writing app without AI — just you and the page
Just Write has no AI assistant, no autocomplete, no “continue writing” button. It's a blank page that keeps your hands moving. Free, in your browser, no sign up.
No AI, on purpose
Most writing tools now come with a built-in assistant: ghost text finishing your sentences, popups offering to rewrite your paragraph, a sparkle button hovering over everything you type. Even when the suggestions are good, they pull you out of your own head — and a first draft written half by suggestion doesn't sound like you anymore.
Just Write has none of that. No suggestions, no grammar underlines, no tone rewrites. What ends up on the page is exactly what came out of your hands.
Your words can't train a model
There's a second reason writers look for AI-free tools: they don't want their drafts uploaded, analyzed, or used as training data. Just Write doesn't have a server-side database for your writing at all. Your text lives in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device — so there is nothing to analyze and nothing to train on.
What you get instead
- Full-screen, distraction-free editor
- Dark mode and optional typewriter sounds
- Writing timer and word count goal
- Local autosave in your browser, so closing the tab doesn't lose your text
- No sign up, no login, no account
- Free, with nothing locked behind a paywall
Built for free writing
Just Write enforces one rule: you can't edit or delete what you've already written. You can only move forward. It's the opposite of an AI helping you polish — it's a tool that keeps you drafting in your own voice, past the inner editor and past the blank page.
